I recently got word that there is a job opening up for at least one acupuncturist at Kaiser Permanente somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area. I sent out a post to a private Facebook page alerting many of my colleagues of this possibility. I would expect to see the job posting as soon as next week (the week of 8/19/2013). If you don’t know where to look for the job posting, you reduce your chances of landing a position to nil. Here’s where to go:

Click on the link above then bookmark it as you will need to return to this webpage often. At the time of this writing, the page looks like this:

Jobs Website Home Page

Click on the “Search Jobs button and a search engine page comes up which looks like this:

Search Criteria

As you can see from the image, I have already typed the keywords, “acupuncture, acupuncturist” in the appropriate field near the top. You should do this yourself when you visit this site. Don’t worry about the “Job Number” field, the “area of Interest” drop down menu or “Zip/Postal Code Radius” options.

Instead, click on the “Location” tab. You can leave it for all if you want but I would suggest selecting “Norther California” region. As an aside, to my current knowledge, Southern California region Kaiser Permanente is not employing in-house acupuncturists at this time.

As you can see in the image, I clicked “Full-time” under the “Schedule” section but if I were you, I’d just leave it blank. At this point, I am not sure if the job posting will be for full-time or part-time employment.

All you have left to do now is click the purple “Search for Jobs” button at the bottom of the page. Your results will very quickly be listed below. On most days, this search will not render any results. That’s okay… keep trying! I would suggest doing this search 2-3x/day over the next few weeks if you are serious about jumping on this upcoming opportunity.

I hope this information is timely and useful! Until next time, be well!
