Any day now, Kaiser Permanente Northern California will post two part-time acupuncture positions, as I announced yesterday in my blog post, here. I want you to see what a job posting notification via e-mail looks like so you can identify it in your inbox.
If you have successfully followed the steps detailed in my blog posts on “Search Kaiser’s Jobs Website” and “Setting Up Your Candidate Profile,” you will eventually receive notification of a job posting which matches your criteria. Today I received just such an e-mail message and I wanted to share with you what that looks like.
The sender will be “Human Resources” and the subject line will read, “Job Posting Notification.” The body of the e-mail message looks like this:
That’s it! This is what you have been waiting for. An actual job has been posted and you are now able to apply for it. The next step is to click on the link that takes you to the jobs website and submit your cover letter and resume to the position posted. If this all goes well and your resume reflects the qualifications of the job posting, you will be contacted by e-mail with a PDF application form. Once you receive the application, fill it out and return it. After that, the waiting game begins as you hope that someone calls you for an interview.
If you do not get an e-mail right away or even after some time from a job search criteria of “acupuncture, acupuncturist,” don’t worry. I literally waited over one and one-half years before I ever got notification of a job posting this way! Of course the job posting I received was for the position I am now in. Acupuncture hospital jobs are still quite rare and those who have them have a tendency to hold on tight to their positions. There’s not a lot of “turnover.”
I want to mention one more thing here. If you do get this e-mail notification of a job posting, it will behoove you to act on it right away. Time is of the essence. There may be hundreds of others seeking employment receiving this notification as well. So generally speaking, the sooner you can get to it, the better chances you have of landing an interview.
I hope that you have found this information useful. Please feel free to leave a comment below. Be well!
